Every believer has been given a gift or gifts that are empowered by the Holy Spirit.
We believe that every gift mentioned in God’s Word is for the church today and should be used for the building of the Kingdom of God and for the Glory of God alone. Spiritual gifts are a beautiful and powerful part of the body of Christ that should be used in an orderly fashion in and through the church. First Rock is made up of families and individuals from many diverse worship experiences and teachings on this subject. We teach what the scripture says about all the gifts knowing not everyone is comfortable with every gift. We do so without any expectation or condemnation but simply from a heart that the whole truth of God’s Word be taught and practiced. All of us as God’s children are growing in understanding of God and His word and we are all at different places in this journey.Simply put we want all the Holy Spirit wants us to have including a deep love for the word of God and solid doctrine. An extreme left where there is little scriptural foundation or an extreme right where there is little Holy Spirit power leaves the church weak and unable to affect her community or the world in the way God intended.
